Living in Downtown Austin
February 1st, 2008There is so much going on in Downtown Austin, the possibilities are endless. The entertainment districts—Sixth Street, Fourth Street, the Warehouse District and the hip clubs and restaurants surrounding Red River provide an array of choices when planning a night out on the town. All the new condominiums and lofts in the downtown area are located just far enough from the happening and noisy nightlife. Not to worry, one would still have easy access to a favorite bar or restaurant. Another plus to living downtown is the numerous galleries and shops. New exhibits are always popping up. In addition, there are always new festivals to visit as well. There is plenty to do whatever your interest!
The great thing about living in Downtown Austin is the easy access to the beautiful Town Lake, jogging trails, and nearby Zilker Park. The close by Congress Avenue Bridge leads to fun and trendy South Congress. SOCO provides great restaurants, vintage stores, and boutiques. In West downtown residents can enjoy Austin’s very own Whole Foods and Bookpeople.
Whether or not one works in downtown Austin, IH-35 to the east, and Mopac to the West provide nearby access to the Greater Austin Area. Downtown is pedestrian friendly and just the right size to get by on foot. Those who reside in downtown are truly living the urban lifestyle.
