Consisting of the communities of Delwood I, Delwood II, Delwood II and Wilshire Woods, the neighborhood of Delwood manages to maintain a quiet, residential atmosphere. Many of the original owners still live in the homes found in the Delwood neighborhood, but many young families from a variety of different ethnicities call the neighborhood home as well.

For those who enjoy shopping, the old Delwood Shopping Center is also located in the neighborhood. Redone in 1990, the shopping center is home to a large Fiesta Mart. The I-35 access road also offers numerous retail opportunities as well as plenty of new restaurants to select from. Some shopping opportunities available from I-35 include Highland Mall, the Hancock Shopping Center and The University of Texas. The nearby Patterson Park and Pool and the Pharr Tennis Center also provide residents with ample opportunities for recreation.

Children who live in the Delwood neighborhood are part of the Austin Independent School District. Elementary-aged children attend Maplewood Elementary School, while middle school students attend Kealing Middle School and high school students attend McCallum High School.
